Watertown YMCA

Wounded Warrior program- Veterans or active duty military members who have sustained injury or disability during their service in Operation Iraqi Freedom or Operation Enduring Freedom (OIF/OEF) are eligible for a free YMCA membership.

Operation Kid Comfort is a program designed to address the emotional stress that children of military personnel suffer during a parent’s absence from home. Operation Kid comfort serves children of deployed service members by providing the child with a quilt or pillow that has pictures of the service member, child and family. The quilt is then given to the child to play with, sleep with or use to comfort them from the grief of missing their deployed parent. As all materials and services are donated, there is no fee for this program.

Vet to Vet

Vet to Vet is a consumer/provider partnership program that utilizes veterans in recovery in a peer-counseling capacity to help other veterans. Vet to Vet is administered by veterans who themselves have been consumers of VA mental-health services.

Vet to Vet provides a six-week, peer-facilitator training program that teaches veterans how to facilitate peer group sessions and introduce program learning topics. We welcome your support!
